Wedding Date on Jan 14, 2018

Our story is unique in the fact that we grew up in the same church, but we didn't truly become friends until 2011–we even had mutual friends growing up. However, I was three years younger than Alex and when you're a teenager, that gap is huge. It wasn't until I moved away to Boston for college that we began our friendship thanks to ~Facebook~. A particularly funny post of his caught my attention, so I struck up a conversation. One year later, I moved home to Florida and we started dating shortly after. We became adventure partners–traveling to different cities over the years for concerts and exploration. To celebrate our four year dating anniversary, Alex took me on a surprise trip to Savannah, Georgia, a city we'd never visited before. On the last day of our trip, we stayed at an eclectic little house in Savannah with a gorgeous treehouse. Little did I know, he would propose to me in that treehouse and livestream the whole event for our family to see. That weekend was so magical that we decided to get married in Savannah. Fate brought us together with James Rayner, who had been referred to us by a friend. My planner, Rebekkah, of Runway Events, and photographer, Chelsea Renay, happened to work a wedding with James and the rest is history. Our day was absolutely amazing and I am so thankful to all of our vendors for making it so. My biggest advice to couples going through the process, is to narrow down three things that matter the most and invest in [those things]. Another big recommendation I have is to not to give up on something that matters to you. I never thought we would have a wedding video at all, let alone this incredible video. Don't be afraid to reach out to vendors and tell them your story. It also helps to have an awesome planning team to help coordinate things with all of your vendors. Overall, remember that this is your day to celebrate with your new spouse. If you stay true to your love, your day will reflect that.
