Spending summers and then falling in love on Cape Cod, no other location ever stood a chance when choosing our wedding destination. Planning began the moment Jon placed the ring on my finger, we visited Wychmere Beach Club the weekend following our engagement and fell in love with the view and ambiance instantly. We secured our July date shortly after, and just like that we had under two years to make our dreams a reality! Our day - July 22, 2017 was a picturesque day in Harwich Port, 75 degrees with the perfect cape cod haze that made my traditional off-white Austin Scarlett gown pop perfectly against my bridesmaids matching silver BHLDN dresses. The girls were all gifted a simple and elegant fishtail necklace to wear from Eden Hand Arts, a local Cape Cod jeweler famous for the original Cape Cod Screwball bracelet. As you only see in fairy tales the sun broke through as we took our vows on the grand lawn of the property. My maternal grandmother passed away shortly after our engagement and sadly, my family dog took his last breath the morning of our wedding day, it is hard not to believe that the sunshine was their way of being present in the most important part of our day. There were two highlights of the day for my now husband and I, the first being our surprise boat arrival as our guest wrapped up cocktail hour, which also gave us precious alone time in a day spent with 250 members of our family and friends. The second being able to walk through the reception space prior to the guests, seeing all of our planning come to life took my breath away - I'll remember that moment forever.
