It started with a look from afar in the café at UConn Health, where Brittany attended her nursing clinicals and Justin worked. Justin inquired about Brittany through a co-worker but at that time, they were at different points in life. Three years later, Brittany moved to the same neighborhood. Finally Justin introduced himself awkwardly at work but still no luck. It wasn’t until one “wrong” swipe of the finger that Justin got his chance to talk with Brittany. After months of talking, Brittany let Justin take her out. After lots of hikes, home cooked meals, deep conversation, close friends, and a few corny love notes and flowers, their friendship blossomed into love. The proposal: Justin surprised Brittany on a snowy winter day in February. The couple often hiked at a local area where they first started talking. There, with Justin’s two daughters, Kylie and Aubrey, and Brittany’s close friend Lizzie, Justin kneeled down to one knee and asked Brittany to be his wife.
