"We met at Bean Scene coffee shop downtown Kelowna on Bernard st. 3 years ago. Mandy had recently moved to Kelowna from spending 6 months in Nepal doing photography work, and was in the cafe contemplating her next move. Ryan came in & sat at the table next to her, in a meeting to discuss his plans to renovate a school bus to travel across the country raising money for charities. Mandy was so drawn to everything he said throughout his meeting that when he got up to leave, she chased him out of the coffee shop & gave him her business card. Ryan was in an alternate relationship at the time, but Mandy & Ryan became fast friends, and she volunteered to come out on weekends to help renovate the bus. A few months later, his relationship ended and Mandy & Ryan immediately pursued their connection. There were many ups & downs as Ryan left Kelowna to travel across Canada on his bus, but they kept in touch the entire time. When he flew back to Kelowna 3 months later, they began dating. 2 months after that, they took the leap to fly back out to Newfoundland to live on the bus together and join forces to raise money for charities through filmmaking & social media campaigns. After living on the bus together for 6 months, Ryan proposed to Mandy on a ship in Halifax, in a very public way on stage, in front of a boat full of onlookers. The rest is history! <3 We LOVE adventure, and are so grateful to have a joined purpose in the work we do. Mandy, as a documentary photographer & fundraising professional for the Elizabeth Fry Society, and Ryan as a marketing pro & VP of charity partnership development at Trellis. We are both passionate about helping others, using our work to give back to those in need and to empower causes we care about. We love to be goofy with one another, often having morning Spotify singalongs in the kitchen, roadtripping and playing crib. We're passionate about our friends & family.....and we cannot wait to travel the world together, live as Entrepreneurs and have a family of our own one day."
