Perri and Matt met six years ago on the mean kickball fields of McCarren Park in Brooklyn. Perri was immediately smitten by her team’s dreamy third baseman and spent her weeks thinking about what she would say to him, and her Sunday evenings forgetting all her plans and just dancing nervously around the field. Matt did take notice of Perri but wasn’t in pursuit of a girlfriend, especially one that was on his kickball team, even if she performed exceptionally cute tap dance routines when nervous. Perri finally confessed her debilitating crush on Matt one evening after downing a few too many drinks in an attempt to calm her nerves. Matt, ever the gentleman, was not swayed by her somewhat intoxicated affection, even when she burst out in the Indiana State song to prove to him her Hoosier roots. Matt eventually fell smitten to the onslaught of adorable dancing and asked Perri if she wanted to get a beer and pizza as he walked her to the subway one night after a kickball game. While snowboarding together six months later, Perri dislocated her knee and Matt decided he had never seen someone in agonizing pain be so friendly, all while wrapped in a yellow banana medic sled on top of a mountain. He knew then she was the one.
