“It’s never a big moment or all of the highs, but all the small moments that made it special” When I heard April speaking these words at her and Yemu’s Oahu wedding @fsoahu , I knew they would be crucial to the story of their film These words were not only spoken, but lived in and acted on throughout their day. It was apparent to me in the way they approached their day— creating an intimate space in a place that meant something to them. Even hiring someone like @niravpatelweddings to photograph— someone who sees the depth to it all in such a unique and special way. The way they loved their friends and family— because their day was so intimate, they took the time to be present with each person (I watched it happen), and even called people out individually to thank them. The way their friends spoke about and loved them back was a true testament to who they are as people. And lastly, it was acted on in how they loved and were present with one another— always checking in, being aware of one another’s needs and emotions, and gosh.. just the way they looked at one another going down the aisle. The energy from their day was fun and joy filled, and the heart of it all was at the center. A huge inspiration to the feeling and emotion of this film. It takes you into the depth of their feelings and brings you out on the other side with a sense of who they are as people. I get to work with the most amazing humans and in the most beautiful places.
