Wedding Date on Dec 19, 2015

From The Bride: Jason and I were married on my parents 39th anniversary. Jason's sisters Mallory and Kimberly served as my maids of honor while my brother Jake was Jason's best man. We incorporated something from each of our grandparents into our ceremony: • Barbara and Jules celebrated their wedding day 39 years ago today. Carly and Jason will share the same anniversary. A piece of fabric from Barbara’s wedding dress is tied around Carly’s bouqet. • On her right hand, Carly is wearing the ring Darryl gave to Lisa 33 years ago on their wedding day. • Jason is wearing a kippah that belonged to Carly’s grandfather Harold. • Sewn into Carly’s dress is a doily that belonged to Jason’s grandmother Juliet. • Carly and Jason’s ketubah is drawn in a style similar to that of Jason’s grandfather Ron’s artwork and contains elements specific to their life, including the fountain and park outside of their home and the Detroit and Chicago skylines. • Carly and Jason will be wrapped in Jason’s grandfather Marvin’s tallis. • Their Kiddush cup for the ceremony belonged to Carly’s grandfather Charles. It came from his scrap metal yard in Detroit. • The wedding ring Jason will slip on Carly’s finger has been used in 38 other wedding ceremonies in Carly’s grandmother Marjorie’s family. • Jason’s wedding ring is inscribed with a quote from a love poem that his grandfather Ron wrote for his grandmother Juliet. • Tied into Carly’s bouquet is a blue charm that Jason’s grandmother Janice gave to Lisa when she and Darryl got engaged. • The candlesticks for the ceremony belonged to Carly's grandmother Mollie • Carly’s grandmother Mollie and her grandmother Marjorie’s engagement diamonds were made into earrings for Carly, which she is wearing during today’s ceremony. • The wine glass for the Kiddush ceremony at the reception belonged to Jason’s grandmother Jackie.
