Wedding Date on Dec 21, 2019

My fiancé, Keaghan Economon, and I met in high school at Parkview and were immediate friends who quickly turned high school sweethearts. When I look back, I’m so grateful for the time/memories we’ve shared. We both love to travel when given the opportunity and recently returned from an amazing trip to Costa Rica! I cannot contain my excitement for everything that is ahead of us. Both Keaghan and I competed in collegiate athletics-but at different universities. I played volleyball at Wichita State and he ran track and cross-country at Colorado School of Mines. We understood each other’s dedication and commitment to excel in our sports. We support each other wholeheartedly, and that something I’m truly grateful for. In his off-season, Keaghan made so many long eight hour drives just to visit me for one weekend. After college, Keaghan found a job and moved to Wichita, Kansas to be closer to me. We lived in the same city/state for one year before he found his dream job in Little Rock Arkansas in January 2018. Then, about seven months ago, Keaghan was driving up to Wichita from Arkansas, and his old Honda passport which he has had since high school. While on his way, his car broke down and he had to pull over at a nearby gas station in Brahman, Oklahoma. He ended up getting stuck at this gas station (his car would only go in reverse). ..lol. Fortunately, I was able to come and pick him up because the gas station was only an hour south of Wichita. The following day, we called a tow truck to haul the car to Honda dealership-which told us the car was totaled due to a “shot transmission”. Keaghan had to drive the rental car back to Little Rock in order to get to work the following Monday. I couldn’t believe how emotional I was when the tow truck came and hauled his old Honda passport away. We had made so many memories and gone on so many road trips with that car over the last eight years. I did get to keep one door handle though. Shortly thereafter, Keaghan was able to find a decently used car on the Facebook marketplace. Here’s where the story gets good: Keaghan called me on January 10, 2019 and told me that the owner of the gas station (The one he pulled over in when his car broke down), was suing him for spilling transmission fluid all over the parking lot. I was so upset because he had no control over his car breaking down and would never vandalize a parking lot service on purpose. Because Keaghan lives so far away in Arkansas, he needed me to go down to Brahman to pick up the lawsuit paperwork from the process server… I really did not want to do this…or you told “you’ve been served” haha. I was hoping to exhaust all other options to avoid driving back down there. Keaghan said he’d already exhausted other options and explained that he would owe me big time if I were able to go down there and help him out. Eventually, I agreed to help. I hoped that maybe I could speak to the gas station owner and convince him to change his mind. January 13, 2019 (Proposal day): I woke up and got dressed for brunch with my sister and good friend, Vanessa. Vanessa was so kind and offered to curl my hair that morning. I had recently gotten a haircut and was unsure of how to stylet. After brunch, we “ didn’t have enough time to go back home and change into comfy clothes” so my sister Gabi offered to drive me in her car and said that she and Vanessa could keep me company down to Braman, Oklahoma. They didn’t want me to be alone meeting someone that I did not know and I was so thankful they offered to come along. (1 hour later) keaghan texted me saying that the process server would be in a white Chevy. But when we pulled into the gas station parking lot, there were white Chevys everywhere! Then, I spotted Keaghan‘s car (The one he bought off of FB marketplace) ... it was backed into the same parking stall his old Honda passport broke down in. I saw Keaghan standing in a wide-open field just beyond the parking lot and was shocked! I did not expect to see him. I pointed to the field where he was standing shrieking “Guys! Look! That’s Keag!” Gabi and Vanessa just smiled with huge grins and nodded. He was standing under a wooden frame that was decorated with lights and flowers! I jumped out of the car and ran down to meet him… It was perfect! I asked him what he was doing here and he got down on one knee and proposed! I was so happy and said yes of course absolutely! The day felt like such a whirlwind, it almost didn’t feel real. At the end of his proposal I asked, “Are you even getting sued?!” & he responded, “Lol, no. I just had to get you down here.” 😂
