How Sam & Grace met fell in love and got engaged! Our story is one that glorifies God, the way that He transformed our lives individually and how He brought us together. We first met at Oak Brook Community Church (OBCC) and from the moment of that first "Hello" God moved in both of our Spirits. Some may call it love at first sight but we call it a divine appointment. That night The Lord spoke to Sam immediately and showed him that Grace would be his wife. Not wanting to rush things in his own desire, he waited for God's perfect time. Weeks after praying, he started questioning if it was God's will or these crazy prayers were his own desire. While at OBCC one night, a member of the church went up to him and said, "The Lord gave me a word for you, He told me that whatever crazy prayers you've been praying, to keep praying them." Now with no doubts in his mind, he prayed those prayers with faith. Almost 6 months later, and after having a dream from the Lord, Sam finally asked Grace out on a date. Grace of course said yes, but before going on the date she went to God in prayer asking Him for a confirmation through His word. While in prayer, The Lord highlighted Psalms 19. It talked about how God is in nature and how he can use nature to communicate to us. Thinking nothing more of it, on September 1st Sam picked Grace up for their very first date. As they sat outside eating, after talking for hours and almost closing out the restaurant, they heard a loud noise. Something hit a table, hit another table, and hit Grace's foot. Reaching down to see what it was, Grace saw it was an acorn. Unknown to Sam what Grace was doing or why, she put it in her purse. On the way home, they got to minister together to a guy whose car was broken down on the side of the road. With the feeling of excitement of how God could use them together, Grace went home to look at the meaning of a acorn from an oak tree. As she read that it symbolized unity and longevity, her heart was filled with joy knowing that the Lord had spoken to her. 3 months later, right before Christmas Sam surprised Grace with a proposal. Outside his house he had a huge sign made filled with Christmas lights saying will you marry me. He got down on one knee and proposed. The rest is history :)
