There are few words to adequately describe just how incredible Stephen & Gracie’s wedding weekend was. As they are good friends of ours, there is nothing we love more than to witness and be a part of the most authentic and unique-to-them wedding weekend– and to be able capture just that. In the beginning stages of the process, Stephen and Gracie shared their dream of having the film be an equal mix of both camcorder and digital and we were immediately so pumped. Their vision for an extremely personal, documentarian, and vintage styled film were all things that we are truly so passionate about in filmmaking and we were beyond excited to prioritize those aspects in their film.
Their celebrations began the night before the wedding following their rehearsal dinner. They invited all of their family and friends to the ultimate pool and pickle ball party, and it was seriously so much fun. Then on the wedding day Gracie and her girls spent the morning getting ready and jamming to music in the sweetest little home while Stephen and the guys played a few rounds at Top Golf. The wedding hadn’t even begun yet and the weekend was already SO THEM!
Their ceremony was held in the church that they spent many of their college years attending and they had one of their dear friends playing the piano in the background, something we were really excited to incorporate into the film. One of our favorite moments captured was the moment they exited the church just seconds after being introduced as Mr. & Mrs. Peacock for the first time ever, and all of their people are outside cheering on the front steps– it was that kind of energy that made their day just so special. Before the reception, we captured the bridal party and portraits at a lookout over the city of Birmingham in the most beautiful flower garden. It was truly magic!
The reception began with S&G blowing out the candles on their wedding cake and eating pizza and ice cream as Gracie’s parents shared the most sentimental toasts. Then, one of the absolute sweetest parts of their day was Stephen’s best friend singing a song they had written together prior and surprising Gracie with it for their first dance together– we were so stoked to also be able to incorporate this unique part into their film. They ended the night by dancing under a disco ball with all of their favorite people and riding off into the city in a convertible.
Needless to say, it was legendary.
