Javil and Makenzi met on 10.10.10 on a wine tour with friends. Fall has always been a special time for them and they wanted to get married at that time. Javil and Makenzi were married at an outdoor chapel that Makenzi's father built and where she always dreamed of being married. It was most important for Makenzi and Javil to celebrate the natural world around them and provide a celebration where friends and family felt how important and loved they were by the couple.Advice we would give:1. Hire Dustin! If you can't, find a videographer you trust. We were not going to hire a videographer and at the last minute my friend introduced us to Dustin. With the whirlwind of the day, it was one of the best decisions we made. 2. Do what makes you happy. Not everything is going to work out perfectly (Makenzi forgot to give anyone music for the bridesmaids' entrance and no one can even remember what they walked to) but if you do what makes you happy, it won't matter. 3. When things go wrong, roll with it. One of our non-negotiables was getting married outside. Just as Makenzi was walking down the aisle, it began to rain. At one point in the ceremony it was raining so hard we took a vote on whether we should go inside. As soon as the crowd voted NO, the sun came out. It was magical.4. Take some time for yourselves. We went for a walk right after the ceremony. It gave us a minute to breath and appreciate each other. Once the reception started, we did not have any quiet time.5. The best advice we received came from a stranger who told us to be mindful of the moment when we walked into the reception. A woman at the nail salon told Makenzi, "Stop and look at every face. You're never going to have a moment like that again. Soak in the love."
