The opportunity to capture love stories all across New England is one of the greatest parts of our job. On a beautiful day in September, we traveled to Stowe, Vermont to capture Jordan & Brad’s wedding and it was breathtaking. From the mountain views and horses grazing in the field to the personal vows during their first look and quiet sunset moments.
From a supposedly cloudy day, the sun beamed through and warmed our hearts, undoubtedly Jordan’s Dad and Brother shining down on all of us. As Jordan and I were walking to her first look to meet Brad she took a moment to soak it in and feel the sun on her skin. Most don’t anticipate navigating grief on your wedding day, but it’s a bond that I shared with Jordan that instantly connected us. I admired how their family took moments to feel their recent losses and celebrate and incorporate Jordan’s Dad and Brother in their ceremony, speeches, and in a quiet moment getting ready with her Mom and sister.
Experiencing grief and loss puts so much of life into perspective and it reminds us how incredibly short life is and how blessed we are to be able to have so many people that love us come together to celebrate.
A lyric from their first dance song that has stuck with me is, “through the highs and lows, the ebbs and flows, all the things we can’t control. I hope you know that my heart is steady.” THAT is what it’s all about at the end of the day.
Congratulations Jordan & Brad, we are so honored to have captured your love story.
