This story will be told from my, Kaylee's, perspective because well I want to have our story on here haha. Jay and I met at The Mark (local restaurant and bar) on Dueling Pianos Night. It was late-August in 2015. I was talked into going out that night by my father, his girlfriend (now fiance) and her best friend. I got dressed up and joined! I'm terrible at making decisions, (sorry babe) so I got what everyone else was having... Wine. We were sitting at a tall table with bar stools and I was just people watching. When lo and behold a beautiful man caught my eye (he was out with his rugby teammates). He looked like Zac Efron and I couldn't look away. It was decided, I was going to stalk him like a mysterious lioness until he noticed me. (Little did I know he had noticed me, but my fancy outfit, glass of wine and young father intimidated him and kept him away) Finished one glass of wine so that I could walk by this devilishly handsome man to refill my glass. As I passed him I did the "look, look away, look back and smile" trick, and nothing. Got my wine, went back to my table and proceeded to chug said glass so that I could try again. Done, game time... nothing again, this eye workout of lash batting is doing nothing for me. On my way back to my table with my full glass of wine, one of Jay's teammates bumped into me, said sorry, which caused Jay to look over at me... This is my time to shine! Trying my hardest to look cute I said,"no worries at all" to his teammate all while staring at Jay. His face, unchanged, looked back the other direction. Went back to my table ready to give up. My posse (mainly Leah, my dad's now fiance) got me all pumped up to go talk to him. If you know me, you know I don't do that. Well I did that. I walked up to him, introduced myself, asked him to take a shot with me and chatted his ear off. I dragged him to the next spot with us, eventually my wine and shot kicked in and we were sitting outside in Downtown Bakersfield on the curb where I said hello to every person passing, and when there wasn't a person to say hello to I was just dancin' while sitting. (This sweet man just sat and chatted with me) My dad toted me home after I had given this gorgeous quiet man my number and I woke up the next day expecting a text. He will tell you he contacted me that same weekend (let's all just let him have that.) Our first date was about a week later and it was a blast. This guy is weird like me and so fun, I think I'm keeping him. We started dating in October of 2015. After a few years, lots of adventures and even more fun times, we moved in together August of 2017. We had a fake engagement shoot planned for January 2018 and little did I know, he contacted the photographers to let them know it would be real. He had also asked my dad for his permission in October of 2017. Our engagement was beautiful, somehow I was surprised even though I yelled at him to take the money out of his pocket during the shoot so it didn't ruin their pictures (it was the ring haha). I couldn't have dreamed of a more perfect man for me and I am so very proud to be the wife he has chosen! I can't wait to live life with you always Jay Garber. Words from the BRIDE [about Jay]: "He is my anchor, always grounding me and keeping me on this earth lol we have grown so much together. He is weird and hilarious, yet such a level head. That saying, ' he keeps me grounded I keep him wild.' Something like that! He's my best friend". Words from the GROOM: "She is what most common folk would call my soulmate. She is my best friend and being with her means that I am loved by someone who isn't my mom".
