Wedding Date on Feb 22, 2020

It was our pleasure to film Lizzie and Nick’s winter wedding in the heart of Northumberland at St Elizabeth’s Church on the Minsteracres Estate. It is quite an exclusive church with not many wedding ceremonies taking place there. Nick had been baptised at the church as a child and his families had been the gatekeepers there for a number of years. When the couple booked the wedding we knew it wouldn’t be your average wedding as their reception was booked to be held at a small Parish Hall in the village of Riding Mill, on the outskirts of Hexham. It is always exciting to be able to film something a little bit different so we were really looking forward to the day. The day started out at Slaley Hall where Lizzie and her bridal party were getting ready. Makeup artist Tara Shenton was there when I arrived as was Jonathan from Duo. It was a lovely relaxed atmosphere in the room where Lizzie was joined by her mother, bridesmaids and her grandparents also popped in to see her before she travelled to the church. Whilst I was filming the bridal preparations Keith was at Nick’s grandparents’ house on the Minsteracres estate filming Nick’s groom preparations before making his way the church, which was a truly stunning structure. Inside guests were arriving ready for the service. Lizzie arrived and made her grand entrance walking down the aisle by herself to see Nick, who turned around at the last moment to see his bride. It was a lovely ceremony with some touching readings being given by the couple’s friends before they braved the cold Northumberland breeze for the confetti walk. When the wedding party made their way to the Parish Hall, we took the opportunity to do the couple’s shots both inside the church and in some wooded area outside the church. We then made our way onto the Parish Hall. We had heard that it had been decorated by Nick’s friend Matt but we were not expecting it to be as grand. The empty hall was turned into a wonderland with silk drapes and coloured lighting which was anything but a village hall look. After the speeches, it was time for the first dance.
