From the Bride: We met at the Ithaca Ale House in Ithaca, NY in July of 2015. I was living in Ithaca (working at my alma mater Ithaca College) at the time (and frequented the Ale House often, as my friend is the owner!) and Adam happened to be in town for the NY State Prof. Firefighters Assoc. convention. I had been out with a friend, who ended up having to leave early, and Adam happened to be sitting next to me at the bar. I still had a full drink when my friend had to leave so I stayed, Adam and I started talking and the rest is history! I had applied to PA school the week before we met, and was accepted that October. I moved home to Connecticut (where I'm from) in Dec. 2015, and we had a long-distance relationship the entire time I was in school. Despite my busy schedule with classes and rotations, and Adam's firehouse schedule, we made a lot of weekend trips and made the most of whatever time off I had during the 2.5 years I was in school. I graduated in May 2018, accepted at job with Capital Region Orthopaedics and moved in with Adam later that month. In November 2018, we returned to Ithaca for a weekend visit. Adam and I had planned to go on my favorite hike in Ithaca when we got to town, but a combination of rain and snow had me trying to convince him that we didn't need to go. Little did I know what he had planned (and that there was no backup plan!), and he insisted that we should go away. Adam proposed on the trail, overlooking Lucifer Falls, in Robert Treman State Park on November 11th. As an added surprised, he had arranged for my sister, brother in law and two best friends from college to come up to join us the following day. All in all it was an amazing weekend in my very favorite place.
