We met through the dating website OkCupid in May 2015. Sarah had recently moved to New York after growing up in Texas and living in California for several years. Josh grew up in Fairport and has lived there all his life aside from a few years living in LA and NYC. Josh initiated the conversation and Sarah played hard to get by waiting almost a week to respond. After some poking around on Josh's Facebook page and some encouragement from a few friends, Sarah agreed to meet up. The official first date happened at JoJo's Bistro & Wine Bar in Pittsford, New York on June 5, 2015. Josh was a little late, of course - Sarah quickly learned that Josh lives on Josh-Time. Josh will tell you that his plan was to start with some drinks to see how things went - because if it wasn't going so well, he was going to bail after a drink or two. Thankfully it was an instant connection so they moved from drinks to dinner and didn't leave for another three hours! ...And as they say, the rest is history. September 18, 2017 - We were on day three of our perfect Jamaican vacation. It was Sarah's 30th birthday, so the day was filled with frozen drinks by the pool, until the afternoon rainstorm passed through. Obviously, Sarah had no idea what was planned for the evening, but when the storm picked up from a light rain to a full on thunderstorm, Josh went in to panic mode (on the down-low). Josh had planned dinner for the two of them that evening, but with no real end in sight to the storm, the resort staff were urging Josh to hold off and reschedule for another day. No way - Rain or no rain, the dinner was still going to happen. Dinner time came around and luckily the rain stopped just before it was time to leave. The evening weather was perfect and the sky had a beautiful blue hue from the passing storm. We got down to the water, where dinner for two was set up in a gazebo at the end of a pier. Sarah was handed a bouquet of red roses by one of the staff members as they walked down the pier, which was lined with candles. The gazebo was decorated with pink, white, and red flowers, and white sheer curtains, and music playing in the background. It was perfect - A scene straight out of The Bachelor. Before Sarah could really wrap her head around everything a photographer started taking pictures as Josh began his heartfelt speech before getting down on one knee. There may have been a few tears, a champagne toast, and then a delicious dinner, but everything was kind of a blur after that! We got back to the house we were staying and our entire group of friends were all waiting on the front porch of the house, drinks in hand and "Marry You" by Bruno Mars playing in the background. It was the most unforgettable evening in the most perfect place!
