"We met at a house party in our hometown where a mutual friend introduced us. We realized we grew up in the same area and just went to rival high schools in town. The first thing he did when I walked into the house was give me a huge bear hug. I went in for the hand shake and he replied 'I'm a hugger' before I had a chance to catch my breath. Brent and I felt an undeniable connection on the first night we met and talked for hours by a bonfire. We both remember that we wore flannels, his was blue and mine was buffalo check red. We talked about our families mostly and I remember the way he talked about his sisters. I could tell he loved the women in his life so deeply and was very protective. We met in October, started dating in December and Brent left me a voicemail in January after a day of ice fishing to tell me that he loved me. I remember in the beginning that both of us just kept saying 'it makes sense' or 'its just so simple.'
