What is your story? Much like Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing” our story is about a small town girl from Montana and a city boy from Boston. Although neither of us live in those places anymore, where we grew up, our upbringing and families is a huge part of why our relationship blossomed into what it is today. How did the two of you meet? Michael and I initially crossed paths during our senior year of college, but were officially introduced a year when we recognized each other at our, now closed, favorite bar. Rosie’s on Tipp Hill. What was your favorite memory of your wedding day? My favorite moment of our wedding day is a tie between our first look, where I was able to show Michael my wedding dress that I had been hiding for two years, and when we were able to walk back up the aisle together, surrounded by friends and family, for the first time as husband and wife. What were the main influences behind the style of your wedding, it’s location and your venue choice for your big day? I can’t say there were any specific influences when it came to the style of our wedding, however one of our main goals was to make everything as classic, and timeless as possible. We hoped that in the future we would be able to look back at our photos and still be happy with the choices we made for our wedding. We chose the location of the The Lodge at Turning Stone, for not only its beauty but for its functionality as well. With the both of us inviting out of town guests we wanted a venue where everyone could stay on site, so that we would be able to spend the most time with our guests as possible, not just during the reception. What would your top tips be for somebody planning their wedding? Having planned a wedding during the pandemic, a lot of the advice I have is specific to that situation, however one general tip I have is to make to do list. Regardless of how important or menial a task may seem, writing it down and checking it off will make you feel like you are accomplishing something, even when it feels as if nothing is going to be done on time. What made you decide to hire a wedding videographer? Any tips for couples on the fence for a film? I am an extremely nostalgic and semimetal person who watches all of the home movies from my childhood on a regular basis, so having a professional wedding video to look back and reminisce on our wedding day for years to come was worth it for me. Being able to watch every moment of our wedding and relive all of those emotions regardless of how much time has gone by is something that was extremely important to me. The only advice I have for couple who are on the fence about hiring a wedding photograph is to ask yourselves the question of why. Why do you want your wedding filmed? Is it because you feel you should, or is it because it is something you will genuinely want to rewatch as the years go by. Anything else you would like to share? I would like to point out that Gavin from Gavin Law Films is not just someone who filmed our wedding day, but instead someone who directly contributed to the excitement and happiness of the day during the entire process and I am so thankful he could be a part of everything.
