Wedding Date on May 15, 2021

Sheliza and Faisal had a sweet micro wedding at the Ismaili Jamatkhana in Scarborough. Their wedding plans took many twists and turns as were constantly trying to adhere to the ever so changing COVID restrictions in the city. We were hoping that Sheliza and Faisal could celebrate with their family and friends as they had planned, but in the end we were restricted to only 10 people total. When you include the bride and groom, their witnesses as well as their ceremony officiants, this made it very restrictive for us to capture their day through photography and videography. We actually couldn’t even be inside the ceremony hall at the Scarborough Jamatkhana to document this special occasion. Though, we were fortunate enough to be able to capture some unobtrusive photos of the outside through the windows. Sheliza looked so radiant in her beautiful gold lehenga with a beautiful pink sash from Frontier Heritage. We love how unique and special Sheliza’s engagement ring is as she had designed it together with Faisal using the diamonds from her mother’s wedding ring. We love how Sheliza and Faisal persisted despite the challenges of having a micro wedding during the COVID-19 pandemic. They were still able to celebrate with their closest family and friends. Sheliza and Faisal chose us at Samantha Ong Photography + Cinema to do both their Ismaili wedding photography and Ismaili wedding videography and it was such a joy to capture this special day for them!
