How did you meet? We initially met through a mobile dating app. We messaged for a few weeks before we finally set up our first date after the new year. Looking back, we’re very grateful for this chance connection, as without this we likely would have never crossed paths based on our social and professional circles in New York City. Tell us all about the proposal! Ryan: One of our favorite relaxing getaway locations is to Greenport, NY on the North Fork of Long Island. We’ve had many trips there to enjoy the wineries, restaurants, and overall quaintness of the town. I proposed in the park in the center of town in front of the carousel while we were on our way to lunch at our favorite local oyster bar – Little Creek Oysters. I had called them ahead of time, and they did an incredible job surprising us with a table, personalized menus, and champagne! Everything went off without a hitch and was one of the best days of our lives. Tara: I was so surprised to learn that Ryan had made a trip to NJ to ask my parents for their blessing to propose, and even more surprised that everyone had kept the secret! I wasn’t expecting him to propose, especially upon arrival to Greenport, and it allowed ample time to call all of our families and friends and still have the night to celebrate together. It made our “happy place” so much happier, and the day was absolutely perfect.
